"A Little Extra"
When printing up your flyers and invites to your event, do you ever question if you are charging enough? If you increased the price, would your attendance go down?
1. Have a base price for your event, but offer "boxes" at the bottom where your attendees can make added donations. Suggest several amounts, leaving the bottom line as a fill in the blank. Don't necessarily list the amounts from smallest to greatest (or vice-versa). Put your target request first and list other amounts under that. You'll be surprised how amny people add this extra gift. Stats show that on average, 40% of attendees will donate "a little extra."
2. Another popular idea is to offer tiered ticket levels. If your event includes seating, charge a slightly higher price per table for 8 than you would per individual. If your attendees have a group they enjoy sitting with, they will choose this option. For an extra donation, include a bottle or two of wine on the table. Or, if your event is a buffet, have volunteers serve VIP tables for a small extra charge. Your event is a celebration; let your guests spoil themselves if they wish!
Buy a Balloon
A fun activity for any function, is Buy a Balloon. Make strips of paper that read You’re a Winner. For every You’re a Winner paper, create 9 strips that say, Sorry, Better Luck Next Time. Slip one paper into each balloon before you blow it up.
With wifi becoming increasingly accessible, WhatsApp made my life so much easier and saved me a lot of money!
WhatsApp will allow you to message any of your contacts that also has the app. By using WhatsApp, I avoided my per text charges that I would have been assessed. We even conducted an experiment and found that messages sent with What’s App came through faster than did those that were texted - as long as both parties had wifi available.
In addition to basic messaging, WhatsApp users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video, and audio messages.

Sell each balloon for $5 or five for $20. When a balloon is purchased, your attendees will know instantly if they’ve won.
You can choose the prizes for the winner, whether it is different amounts of money or to be selected from a prize table, your attendees will enjoy the fun game, and you will love the proceeds.
To really make a hit, fill the balloons with helium and have volunteers circulate, each carrying a bouquet of balloons.
Create A Bid Wall
Instead of cluttering up your silent auction tables with gift certificates and service donations, create a "Gift Certificate Wall." Tape columns of 8.5" x 4" item descriptions on a wall.
The top portion of a bid sheet generated wth Pearl Bids Silent Auction Manager makes this easy. Many bidders can easily see what is available, and the display stays neat and orderly throughout the evening, so no one misses that perfect item.
While you might want to use the whole bid sheet for the display. We have found that it also works great to have a binder with the bid sheets on a table next to the wall, making it easier for people to write down their bids.
Have an Instant Envelope Raffle
Sell sealed envelops with coupons for instant winners. This is a great way to mingle with people during an event. Get a large number of envelopes and fill each one either with a winning coupon or a 'Better luck next time' note. Make sure 1 in 4 is a winner. Mix all the envelopes well. Punch a hole on the corner of the sealed envelope and hang all yoru envelopes on a large ring - or two. Volunteers carry the rings and watch their collection decrease as they work the crowd to sell envelopes.
